Job Description – Video editor: Glasgow

Chocolate Films produces video content for museums, art galleries, charities and corporate clients. We run Chocolate Films as a social enterprise, and use profits from the video production services to support a wide range of filmmaking experiences for children, young people and vulnerable adults. We’re currently looking for a new video editor at our Glasgow office.

This is a varied role that includes:
– Editing a range of video content, from briefs, storyboards or scripts. These are largely factual, promotional and exhibition films.
– Organising and managing hard drives.
– Uploading and optimising video for online, including transcription and production of SRT files etc.
– Archiving content on LT07 drives.
– Facilitating digital video workshops.

Essential skills:
– Excellent skills in Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere and After Effects
– Good colour correction and sound editing skills
– Teaching/workshop facilitation

Desired attributes:
– An interest in art/art history and the museums sector
– Knowledge of current video optimisation strategies for popular platforms
– Experience of the full production process of a factual film

Payment: Annual salary of £21,500 – £27,500 depending on experience.
Employment is contingent on a clean extended DBS check and clean driving license.

Duration: An initial 3 month trial period with a view to longer term position. Regular working week Monday to Friday 9.00 – 6pm, but flexibility essential as weekend and evening work is common. Time off in lieu offered for extra hours.
