Job Description – FCPX Video Editor

We’re looking for a full-time FCPX Video Editor who is passionate about the Chocolate Films brand. The right person will be a creative storyteller and someone excited to work on editing impactful video content, cutting promos, events, documentaries, conference films and more. We need someone with a strong eye for what works on social media and what audiences look for in bold and dynamic content. They will also need to hold impeccable skills in attention to detail. They will have proven experience (2 years minimum) working as an editor for video production companies and ideally, they should be passionate about art, culture and heritage.


Chocolate Films is a video production company with bases in London, Glasgow and Berlin. We produce video content for museums, art galleries, charities and corporate clients, with an exciting and inspiring client list. Chocolate Films has been run as a social enterprise ever since it was founded in 2001. We use profits from our video production services to support a wide range of filmmaking experiences for children, young people and vulnerable adults. 


Essential Skills

  • Mac user
  • Excellent Final Cut Pro X editing skills across a range of short-form and long-form content including high impact social media videos, adverts, promos, documentaries, event films and more
  • Strong in Motion Graphics, using Motion and After Effects
  • Good colour correction and colour grading skills – DaVinci Resolve Colour Grading
  • Dubbing mixing and sound editing skills


  • Salary Range £25,000 – £30,000 pa depending on experience (reviewed annually) 
  • Regular working week Monday to Friday 9:00 – 18:00. Evening and weekend work will be necessary depending on projects and workloads. Time off in lieu for extra hours is offered.
  • The job will be based in London, and for the probationary period, you will be expected to work from the office. Following the probationary period, there will be opportunities to work remotely
  • Holidays – 20 days per year plus UK bank holidays
  • Duration: An initial 6 month probationary period with a view to a longer-term position.
